Rod Fehring

Rod Fehring has spent the past 26 years working in the Australian property sector. Rod has held various positions including Chief Executive of Delfin Lend Lease, Head of Lend Lease Communities, Asia Pacific (which consisted of three business units; Delfin Lend Lease, Lend Lease Development and Retirement by Design), Lend Lease Ventures (identifying new and emerging technologies capable of driving new growth whilst positioning Lend Lease at the forefront of the property and construction industry) and more recently in December 2009, appointed CEO Lend Lease Primelife (largest listed “pure play” owner, operator and developer of senior living communities).

Lend Lease Primelife is the largest listed “pure play” owner, operator and developer of senior living communities. The company currently owns and manages a portfolio of 60 Retirement villages and 30 Aged Care facilities across Australia and New Zealand comprising approximately 9,800 retirement living units and 2,256 residential aged care beds.

Rod is actively involved in the property industry and was appointed Chairman, Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute in March 2008 and is a current Foundation Member & Chairman of the Residential Development Council and Director of the Property Council of Australia.  From September 2008 to April 2009, Rod was appointed Member of the Built Environment Innovation Council by the Minister for Innovation Industry Science & Research Council. Rod is also a member of the Planning Institute of Australia and was Trustee of the Melbourne Cricket Ground Trust, from July 1999 to December 2007.

Rod's qualifications include, Bachelor Applied Science, Graduate Diploma Bachelor Applied Science, Graduate Diploma Sports Administration (Facilities), Graduate Diploma Urban & Regional Planning and has participated in the Executive Development and Advanced Management Programs at Wharton Business School, USA.

Paul Walsh

Chief Financial Officer Lend Lease Primelife

Paul Walsh

Paul Walsh has been with the Lend Lease Group for nearly 20 years and has held a number of senior executive positions within the Group in Australia, the UK and the United States in the development, project financing and construction business units.

Prior to being appointed to the role of Global CFO for Bovis Lend Lease, Paul held the position of Head of Lend Lease Project Finance, responsible for the project financing and structuring activities for developments undertaken by Lend Lease in Australia and Asia. Paul worked in that business for 12 years, including periods of secondment to Joint Venture companies as the CFO.

In 1994 Paul worked in the United States in the newly acquired Yarmouth funds management business, and previously from 1992 to 1993 was CFO of Lend Lease International based in London. Paul commenced his career with the Group with Lend Lease Interiors as Financial Controller.

Paul has a Bachelor of Business from the New South Wales Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Technology Sydney. He is a Fellow CPA.

David Payne

Commercial Director Lend Lease Primelife

David Payne

David Payne is Commercial Director of Lend Lease Primelife.  He has responsibility for the management of key relationships within the portfolio together with delivering strategies in relation to the growth and rationalisation of assets within the portfolio .

David has almost 30 years in the property industry in Australia and over 20 years with Lend Lease. He has worked in many areas within the Lend Lease group including the funds management, development, construction and property management business units.

In late 2008 Lend Lease acquired a major shareholding in and management rights for Lend lease Primelife (formerly the Babcock and Brown Communities) and David moved into the role of General Manager – Retirement Villages. David’s role was subsequently changed to his current role in July 2009.  He was formerly General Manager of Retirement by Design since early 2006.  Drawing on extensive experience in business structure, systems and processes, David undertook to fully integrate Retirement by Design into Lend Lease and restructure the business platform.   His core focus was on the securitisation of mature villages, establishing a strong development portfolio and pipeline for the growth of Retirement Villages under management.

Before joining Retirement by Design, David successfully delivered Darling Park Stage 3 on behalf of the GPT Group and formulated a number of other commercial office development deals at Sydney Olympic Park and Victoria Harbour. Previously he was CEO of Fox Entertainment Precinct and was responsible for the joint venture on behalf of Lend Lease and News Corporation.

David has a Bachelor of Commerce from University of New South Wales and is a licensed Real Estate Agent.

Pam Barry

General Manager Aged Care Lend Lease Primelife

Pam Barry

Pam Barry joined Primelife in February 2006 from Affinity Health (Mayne Health) where she had a career spanning 15 years. Pam's experience includes managing hospitals. Pam was Chief Executive Officer of Melbourne Private and Frances Perry House and held corporate roles including the management of multi sites such as medical centres. Pam’s last role was National Director of Nursing for the Affinity Hospitals prior to joining Primelife.

Pam is a Registered Nurse and has a graduate diploma in management.

Mark Mitchell

Chief Information Officer Lend Lease Primelife

Mark Mitchell

Mark Mitchell has had more than 25 years experience in information technology in a broad range of industries. Prior to joining Primelife in January 2006, he held the position of General Manager at Electronics for Imaging Inc in the United States, managing software development, delivery and consulting to major corporations. Previous positions have also included eight years as Chief Information Officer of PMP Limited and a further eight years as Information Technology Manager for Macpherson Limited.

Les Sholakis

National Business Manager Finance Lend Lease Primelife

Les Sholakis

Les Sholakis joined Lend Lease Primelife in December 2004 as the Management Accountant. Les is a senior executive with more than 20 years experience in developing accounting solutions and business models in the media, manufacturing and health industries. 

Les’ current role is National Business Manager Finance, Aged Care, a position that allows him to focus on value creation through improved systems, enhanced operational functions and asset management.

Les has a Bachelor of Business from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and is a Fellow CPA.
